Zipper merging only works if two conditions are true:
1) Everyone continues to travel at highway speeds.
2) Everyone leaves space to merge safely between their car and the one ahead.

So, there's a third condition:

3) Humans aren't driving any of the cars.

I hate mfers who believe in the myth of the zipper merge. You, J. Jerk Jamitin, will NEVER zipper merge correctly. You, Jerk Jerk (the bumhole so nice they named it twice) are looking for external validation of your entitled driving habits.

Heavens forfend drivers pay full attention. Saints preserve us from drivers who don't unnecessarily slow for simple bullshit completely unrelated to piloting their car.

If the ONLY idea behind extensive public transport were "take humans out of driving", I'd support it til my dying breath.
