So, being very new to keyboard/piano and having almost no formal training in music theory,

I'm just spending some time this afternoon trying to count out chords in major and minor scales - like, to look at my little interval cheat sheet and, starting from a random note, play the major and the minor 1-3-5 chord.

Basically fucking around with the general aim of learning a skill.

@thraeryn Sounds like a great way to go about it to me!

@avalon I've watched a working composer create 12-bar melodies by just playing with the three notes of a chord, moving up to another chord in that key and noodling with those three notes, maybe moving to a minor for those three notes.

If I can somehow get the intervals into my head, innately, I think it'll go a long way.
