Deleted my personal #twitter today, for so many reasons. Despite being 100% behind the decision, and not using the account at all anymore, it still gave me a bit of anxiety.
Change is good, and sometimes hard.
@RussSharek
Ridding myself of Facebook likely felt similar. I'm finding the things I miss a bit frustrating, and am still glad of my choice.
@RussSharek
Oh, mine is as well. #Houston #burners are all about Facebook groups and events. Thankfully, there's a weekly thing I can attend to try to stay reasonably informed.
It feels like a frustrating obligation, but how much time did I give that site in the first place? 🙄
@RussSharek
It's going through changes. They're not all well-received. We used to party harder without being terribly organized; we now face sometimes frustrating levels of organization and fewer tension-relieving wild-outs.
Also, TX keeps attracting new people and new burners. Burns get tougher and tougher to attend without foreknowledge and swift action.
They're still some of my favorite people.
@thraeryn
I hear you. It's a challenge to make anything happen here without putting my toe in that site.
I'm curious what the Houston burner community is like. I used to move among the Dallas circles until I realized I loved the people but the scene wasn't for me.
